San Diego builder to construct The Onyx

Offering a total of 63 condominiums within a 10 minute drive from Las Vegas luxury shopping -- including the Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops -- Crestone Co.'s, The Onyx condominium development is projected to open soon behind the Tropicana Hotel, across from the MGM Grand, .

Ranging in size from 740 to 2,300 square feet, the residences will include one, two and three bedrooms, with some two-level town home designs.

Highlighted features of the condominium residences include solid granite counters as well as stone flooring in the kitchens, dining areas, living room and baths.

The San Diego-based builder has scheduled completion for July with six residences of the 63 units remaining for purchase.

Prices on available units range from the high $500's up to the $900's.

The builder is emphasizing, not only luxury but convenience, as the project will provide its residents with such on-the-ground amenities as a resort style pool with cabanas, outdoor Jacuzzi and an outdoor kitchen area.

Plans for the grounds also include palm trees and desert landscaping to further enhance the development's resort-style atmosphere.

A work-out area for residents will overlook the pool area.

The facility will offer cardiovascular workouts and equipment.

The development is being promoted as an urbanite's option for comfortable living which also affords access to downtown centers of business and retail.

The builder points to the proximity of Onyx, not only to the high-end casino/hotel the MGM Grand, but to public conveyances such as the monorail system and McCarran International Airport.

The development is also within 10 minutes of Las Vegas' Howard Hughes center of professional offices.

According to the builder, Onyx residents will range from weekend vacationers who have purchased a second home within the development and Las Vegas urbanites who will make the condominium development a primary residence.
